02First things first

Who this course is for — and who it is not.

It is for you if…

  • You have never studied Chinese and do not know a single character. This is exactly the starting point, not a level that assumes you already have the basics.
  • Arabic is your first language, and you have tried material that explains Chinese in English and found yourself translating twice.
  • You can commit to two fixed sessions a week, and to twenty minutes a day between them.
  • You want a teacher who knows your name and reads your homework — not a pre-recorded course you watch alone.

It is not for you if…

  • You already know some Chinese and want a higher level. HSK 1 is all we offer today.
  • You want to learn alone, whenever suits you. Half of this course is live sessions at fixed times with a class, and being there is part of it.
  • You want a certificate without finishing the course. It is only issued on full completion, and there is no way to hurry it.
  • You want to register and pay in two minutes without speaking to anyone. Our registration goes through a person, and the steps are set out below.

See what you will be able to say

03The outcome

Every Chinese sentence below is from the course itself.

Unit one — Greetings and introductions

  • 你好吗?— 我很好,谢谢。你呢?Greet someone, ask how they are, and answer.
  • 我是中国人。Say who you are and where you are from — and know that 是 is the copula and its negative is 不是.
  • 谢谢 — 不客气 (bú kèqi)Thank someone and answer thanks with the right pronunciation, not the written one.

Unit two — Numbers and time

  • 十一 · 十二 · 二十Count to 99 once you have the first ten: 11 is "ten-one", 20 is "two-ten".
  • 几点?Read the clock, and say the day and the date.
  • 多少钱?— 一共二十块钱。Ask a price and understand the answer.

Unit three — Family and food

  • 我家有四口人。Describe your family — and know why its members are counted with 口 and not 个.
  • 我想喝一杯茶。— 我要一个米饭。Order in a café or a restaurant, and tell 想 (would like) from 要 (want).
  • 没有Negate correctly: 有 is negated with 没 alone, so you never say 不有.

You also leave able to write characters in the right stroke order — 24 characters of them today — and able to hear the four tones and the neutral apart.

Read one of them in full

05One whole lesson

A whole lesson, exactly as it stands.

The first lesson of the "Numbers and time" unit is made of three exercises. Here are all three — not a sample of them.

Numbers 1–10

013

Which number does this Chinese character represent: 三?

  • ThreeThe correct answer
  • Two
  • Five

三 (sān, first tone — high and level) means "three". Here is the trick: the first three numbers in Chinese are drawn with that many horizontal lines — 一 (one) is one line, 二 (two) is two, 三 (three) is three. Instead of memorising, you count. Which is why "two" was the trap: count only two lines and you have the wrong answer.

023

Choose the Chinese character that means 'ten' (10).

  • 十 (shí)The correct answer
  • 四 (sì)
  • 七 (qī)

十 (shí, second tone, rising) means "ten", and it looks like a plus sign, which makes it easy to hold on to. Here is the big win: once you have 1 to 10 you can count to 99. Eleven is 十一 (ten-one), twelve is 十二 (ten-two), twenty is 二十 (two-ten). Chinese builds numbers out of simple logical blocks rather than out of memorised forms.

033

Complete the number sequence with the right character: 五, 六, ___, 八

  • 七 (qī)The correct answer
  • 九 (jiǔ)
  • 三 (sān)

The sequence is 5, 6, __, 8, so the missing number is 7 = 七 (qī, first tone). And a cultural note: numbers in China carry quiet meanings that come from how they sound. 八 (bā, eight) is considered lucky because it sounds like 发 (fā), wealth and prosperity, while 四 (sì, four) is avoided because it sounds like 死 (sǐ), death — which is why some buildings and lifts skip the fourth floor entirely, exactly as some other cultures avoid thirteen.

The three exercises and their explanations are exactly as they are in the course. The only difference is that there you answer first, and then the explanation appears.

Who will teach you this?

06Your teacher

One teacher, on every session and every piece of marked work.

One class, one teacher, for the whole course. Not a rota of staff taking turns on you. You are told their name when your class forms, before the first session.

⟦TEACHER NAME⟧

⟦TEACHER BIO⟧

  • They mark your homework themselves and write on it. The score and the note reach you in the same place.
  • They mark your attendance at every session — present, absent, late or excused.
  • You message them in a private thread between the two of you, and what you wrote there stays yours to read.
  • And they are evaluated too: academic supervision follows every teacher’s work and scores it, with notes.

See the class you will be in

07Your class

The class you will be in.

A class of 7 to 10 students

A class does not start with fewer than 7 and never holds more than 10 — and it closes the moment it is full, even if that is days before registration was due to shut. Only 3 seats separate the two, so a week’s delay can be the difference between a seat and a full class.

  • A room that opens in a browser

The session is in a room online, and its link opens in a browser; you are not asked to create an account anywhere else. The room is your class’s alone; nobody outside it gets in.

  • Balancing never refuses anybody

When an intake is divided into classes, the classes are balanced so nobody ends up alone in a room. That balancing never blocks, delays or turns anybody away, and it never leaves anybody without a seat. Anybody who did not say anything about themselves at registration is never delayed for it.

  • Nothing about your class is left to chance

The same students always give the same classes, so "why was I put in this class?" has a clear answer. And the division that is applied is the one that was reviewed and approved — no other.

  • And what sits around the session

Every class has its space: class discussions, announcements, homework, shared files and your marks — in one place that does not move for the length of the course.

What does it cost?

08The money

The price gets written here, not said in a call.

The seat price reaches you in writing before you pay a riyal — never "price on request".

696 SAR

The price covers

  • Every live session of the course, from the first to the last.
  • Full access to the course on the platform: lessons, exercises, vocabulary, daily review, tone drills, handwriting and the annotated dialogues.
  • Your homework marked, and your teacher's written feedback on it.
  • The certificate of completion, if you finish the course.
  • ⟦WHAT THE PRICE COVERS — needs confirming⟧

The price does not cover

  • One-to-one speaking classes — 30 minutes each, with a teacher alone, bought separately.
  • Private lessons — a whole course for you alone with a teacher; a different product at a different price.
  • The fee for the official HSK exam. That exam is run by somebody else at an accredited centre, and our price has nothing to do with it.

How you pay: By card (Visa or Mastercard) or Apple Pay, on a secure Stripe payment page sent to you as a link by the academy

How registration works

09The steps

How it goes, step by step.

1

You request a seat

Your name, your email and a password you choose. Your request reaches the academy and a person reads it — and you are not asked for card details at this step or the next one.

  1. 1

    You request a seat

Your name, your email and a password you choose. Your request reaches the academy and a person reads it — and you are not asked for card details at this step or the next one.

  2. 2

You are placed in an intake

The academy comes back to you on ⟦CONTACT CHANNEL — not decided⟧ with the timetable and the price, and your seat is then held in the right intake.

  3. 3

Your seat is held for 48 hours

An unpaid hold lasts 48 hours and then the seat goes back to others, and you are told — it is never taken away in silence. A seat you have paid for never expires.

  4. 4

    Your class forms

When the intake closes, it is divided into classes. And in that same moment every one of your sessions is written into your calendar: every date, from the first to the last.

  5. 5

    You begin

You are told the name of your class, the name of your teacher, and the date of your first session.

And if the academy moves you from one class to another while your seat is still held, the payment deadline you were given does not change.

And if it does not fill?

10If it does not fill

A short class does not start, and you lose nothing because it did not fill.

  1. 01

A class does not start with fewer than 7 students.

A class that starts with four is not a better deal for you — it is a class that stops halfway.

  2. 02

    Nothing happens automatically.

When registration closes short, nothing is cancelled and nobody is moved on its own. A person at the academy decides, and then asks you.

  3. 03

And you have two choices, not one.

Either you move to the next intake for the same money — no extra fee, no second charge — or your money comes back to you in full.

  4. 04

And your silence is not an answer.

Your seat is not moved and your money is not returned until you say which you want — no decision about your money is made while you are away.

  5. 05

And we will be the ones to ask.

The academy asks you itself, on ⟦CONTACT CHANNEL — not decided⟧: move, or refund? And it waits for your answer — you do not have to go looking for a button.

  6. 06

And a class whose lessons have started is not cancelled.

A class is only cancelled by a person with the authority to do it, and they have to give a reason. A class that is being taught is not cancelled.

And what do you leave with?

11At the end

A certificate anybody can verify.

A certificate of completion is issued in your name at 100% of the course — not 90% — carrying a serial number, a verify code and a public link. Whoever opens the link sees four things and no more: the serial, your name, the course and the issue date. It is printable, and if something turns out to be wrong it is revoked and the link says so.

12Everything else

Last questions.

Are classes separated by gender?
No. Classes are mixed, and they are balanced only so that nobody ends up alone in a room. That balancing never blocks or delays anybody, and anyone who did not say anything about themselves at registration is unaffected by it.
Can I register and pay right now on the site?
No, not today. Registration goes through a person at the academy, and the timetable and the price reach you before you pay.
Are sessions recorded so I can watch them later?
Yes. Class recordings are kept and shared with you, so if you miss a session you catch up from its recording. Alongside it, the lessons, exercises and vocabulary are in your account all week, and your teacher is in Messages for anything still unclear.
Do I need an app, or an account somewhere else?
You need no account on any other platform — the session opens from a link. On a computer that link opens straight in the browser; on a phone the browser may offer to open it in the meeting provider's app. Your academy account is where your lessons, homework, calendar and messages with your teacher live.
How much time do I need between sessions?
Twenty minutes a day beats two hours once a week — which is what the daily review in your account is for.
Is there a placement test?
Inside the platform there is a short ten-question check on the meanings of your course vocabulary, which suggests where to start. It is a vocabulary diagnostic, not an HSK level assessment. In any case: one course is on offer today, and everybody starts there.
What if I want to withdraw halfway through?
Tell your teacher or the academy, and do not simply disappear — your seat stays counted against you until somebody knows. Refunds follow ⟦REFUND POLICY — not published⟧.
And when do the higher levels open?
When they are genuinely ready. HSK 2 is not on offer today because it is not yet complete as a course in its own right.
