Terms of use

Short terms, written in language you can actually read: what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. Read it once and you will know where you stand.

  1. What this service is

Rosy is an academy that teaches Mandarin Chinese to Arabic speakers: lessons, teachers, practice, live classes and certificates. By using the site or your account on it you agree to these terms; if you do not agree with them, do not use the account.

  2. Your account

    • Signing up does not open an account on its own: the academy reviews every request before activating it, and may decline one.
    • Your account is yours alone. Do not share it or give your password to anyone — what happens from your account is attributed to you.
    • Give us accurate details; the name printed on your certificate is the name on your account.
    • We recommend turning on two-factor authentication, particularly if you are a teacher or an administrator.
    • If you forget your password, reset it yourself from the “Forgot your password?” link on the sign-in page: a link is sent to the email on your account, and changing the password signs you out on your other devices. If you no longer have access to that email, write to us from the contact page and an administrator issues a temporary password.
  3. Acceptable use

    • The content is for your own learning. Do not publish, sell or distribute it, or use it for commercial teaching, without the academy’s written permission.
    • Do not try to reach anyone else’s account or data that is not yours, and do not probe the system for weaknesses without prior permission.
    • Be respectful to your classmates and teachers in class discussions and live classes. No harassment, no abuse.
    • Do not upload content you have no right to, or content that breaks the law.
    • Do not create automated accounts or scrape the platform’s content.
  4. Content and ownership

The lessons, texts, dialogues, audio, exercises, and the Rosy name and logo belong to the academy or are licensed to it. What you write — your answers, assignments and discussion posts — stays yours, and you give the academy permission to use it inside the platform for teaching, marking and assessment, and for nothing else.

  5. Certificates

A certificate issued by Rosy evidences that you completed the academy’s coursework, and carries a verification code anyone can check on the verification page.

To be precise about it: it is a private academy’s certificate, not the official HSK certificate issued by the accredited Chinese authorities. The academy may revoke a certificate issued in error or obtained by cheating.

  6. The service is provided as it is

Rosy is under active development. We work hard to make it run well, but we do not guarantee it will run uninterrupted or free of faults, and we do not guarantee any particular learning outcome — learning takes your effort too. Features may change or be withdrawn.

To the extent the law allows, the academy is not liable for indirect or consequential damage arising from using the service or from being unable to use it.

  7. Suspending or ending an account

The academy may suspend or end an account for a breach of these terms, or where something threatens the safety of students or of the system. We will tell you the reason where we can. You may ask for your own account to be closed at any time from the contact page.

  8. If these terms change

If we change something material we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use your account after that means you accept the new version.

A question about these terms?

How to reach us is on the contact page.

These terms were written to be clear. They are not a lawyer’s document, and they are not a substitute for legal advice.
